Abstract

Outdoor lamps are an alternative to outdoor lighting. It has gone through an evolutionary process from the use of 240Vac single phase to 5Vdc solar PV. Apart from that, the Outdoor lamp has also been improved in terms of its ability to detect movement in front of it and at the same time will provide bright lighting when an object moves in front of it at a certain distance. Through this evolutionary process, electricity savings can be optimized and at the same time reduce the cost of electricity bills. However, there are still flaws in the use of outdoor lamps, particularly in terms of intelligence in spotting moving objects and determining what objects are moving in front of it. This is one of disadvantage that need to be addressed in the production of outdoor lamps. Through this study, an outdoor lamp that uses solar PV as an energy source and equipped with ultrasonic sensors and cameras has been built to detect and identify objects that pass through the outdoor lamp. This system also combines outdoor lamps and security cameras for lighting and safety outside the house. In addition, this system also facilitates the maintenance process because each unit is equipped with a sensor that detects the condition of the lights used on outdoor lamps in addition to being monitored using the IoT platform. Through this study, the use of Lithium Polymer (Li-Po) battery with a capacity of 19800mA can last up to 13 hours in a fully charging condition with the maximum energy consumption for LEDs and IoT systems used is 120 Watts. This also shows the novelty of the system and the optimal energy use for outdoor lamps as well as facilitates the maintenance process when there is damage to the units.
